January 2008

01/01 Desert and Northern Wheatears at Cromer Point, also Water Pipit at Cromer Pond. Little Gull briefly at Scalby Lodge Pond this morning, also 21 Pink-footed Geese. First-winter Scaup at Burton Riggs. Adult Med Gull at The Mere plus 9 Gadwall.
02/01 Desert Wheatear still. Five Med Gulls (4 ads + 2w) Holbeck. Two Gadwall and Goldeneye Mere. 48 Stock Doves Flotmanby Carr.
03/01 Eight Gadwall at the Mere. 30 Redwings over Burton Riggs.
04/01 Redhead Smew still at Wykeham Lakes. Nine Whooper Swans and 13 Corn Buntings at Willerby Carr. Velvet Scoter, Great Northern Diver, 5 Dark-bellied Brents past Marine Drive. Water Pipit Cromer Pond. 1w Little Gull and Red-breasted Merganser Scalby Mills. Two Goosanders and a Shoveler Throxenby Mere. Two Bar-tailed Godwits, 6 Pink-footed Geese Scalby Lodge Pond.
06/01 Grey Phalarope Marine Drive off post 54 at 2.20 pm, also 5 Eider and Little Gull past. Black-throated Diver, White-fronted Goose, Scaup, and Chiffchaff Burton Riggs. Nine Whooper Swans Flotmanby Carr. R B Merganser and two Goosanders on the Mere. Twite, Wheatear and Water Pipit Cromer Point. Short-eared Owl and Water Rail Star Carr.

07/01 Black-throated Diver, Scaup, and Chiffchaff at Burton Riggs. Woodcock flew in off the sea at Marine Drive, two Common Scoter and two Gannets past, plus Razorbill and two Guillemots on the sea.
08/01 Black-throated Diver and Scaup Burton Riggs. Four Red-throated Divers off the harbour. Four Mandarins Hackness Lake. Two Goosanders and R B Merganser Seamer Road Mere.
09/01 White-fronted Goose at Hurd's Pond Scaup and Black-throated Diver Burton Riggs.
